Our story

At Celebrating People, we understand that every life is unique and deserves to be celebrated with dignity, love, and respect. We, Dianne and Lynell, are funeral celebrants dedicated to serving families from the Southern Gold Coast through to Northern Rivers and beyond. Our mission is to create meaningful and personalised ceremonies that honor the lives of your loved ones.

With years of combined experience in guiding people through various stages of life, we bring compassion, empathy, and understanding to each family we serve. We believe that every story is worth telling, and it is our privilege to share in the life, love, laughter, and even the sorrow that comes with saying goodbye.

We work closely with your funeral director to make your day to say farewell done your way. We are here to support you during one of the most challenging times in your life, providing a comforting presence and helping to craft a ceremony that truly reflects the essence of your loved one. Our approach is to listen, understand, and collaborate with you to ensure that every detail is taken care of, and every moment is meaningful.

Meet Dianne and Lynell

Dianne Holmes

My journey to becoming a funeral celebrant began with a series of heartfelt requests from friends and family. They entrusted me with the honour of officiating the farewells of their loved ones, a role that opened my eyes to the profound impact a personalised ceremony can have on those grieving and celebrating a life.

Witnessing the deep appreciation and emotional connection that these tailored ceremonies evoked, I realised that every life deserves a unique and meaningful tribute. This realisation ignited a passion within me to craft ceremonies that genuinely reflect the individuality and spirit of each person.

With each farewell, I saw how a well-crafted ceremony could provide comfort, celebrate a life, and bring people together in shared memories and love.

As a funeral celebrant, my goal is to create ceremonies that are not only special and memorable but also deeply personalised.

Being a celebrant allows me to combine my love for storytelling, my respect for individual uniqueness, and my desire to create meaningful experiences. It is a privilege to be part of such significant moments in people's lives, and I am dedicated to making each ceremony a true reflection of the love and joy that it celebrates.

Lynell Dumont

My connection to this deeply meaningful work runs in my veins, coming from a family of dedicated funeral directors. Their unwavering commitment to supporting others during challenging times has inspired me to follow a similar path with my unique approach.

Before becoming a celebrant, I enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an educator and keynote speaker. These roles allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life, sharing knowledge, inspiration, and empathy. My love for people and deep understanding of their emotions have always been at the heart of my work.

As a funeral celebrant, I prioritise guiding families on their emotional journey, helping them feel the warmth and remembrance of their loved ones. I am passionate about creating ceremonies that honour the lives of the departed and celebrate their unique moments with empathy, love, and laughter.

I have had the privilege of writing and performing many heartfelt eulogies, each a tribute to the individuality of the remembered person. My approach to writing and delivering services is fresh and sincere, always prioritising the needs and wishes of the families I support.

It is always my deepest hope that through my work, I can help families find comfort, closure, and a sense of celebration in the lives of their loved ones. I am here to share my love for people and ensure that each service truly reflects the life and legacy being honoured.
